Tin Sau Bazaar (Chinese: 天秀墟), which was initially named as Tin Shui Wai Bazaar, is located opposite to Tin Fu Court on the Tin Sau Road in Tin Shui Wai of the Yuen Long District of New Territories in Hong Kong, occupying approximately 3,800 square metres.〔(Carrie Lam Observes Tin Shui Wai vacant land, Sing Tao Daily 2012, 9, 1 )〕 The Bazaar is operated and managed by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs), which is a non-government organization (NGO), on a non-profit-making basis. The construction works of the Bazaar began in January in 2013 and the bazaar officially commenced operations on 8 February 2013. ==History== On 1 September 2012, the Chief Secretary for Administration Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor announced that the Hong Kong government had agreed to allocate a piece of vacant 3,800-square-metre land for the purpose of setting up a flea market in Tin Shui Wai. The government would also provide a funding of HK$ 10,000,000 to support the establishment of a bazaar there.〔(Tin Shui Wai vacant land proposed to develop into bazaar, Sing Tao Daily 2012, 9, 1 )〕〔(Tin Sau Bazaar, GEOCACHING )〕 The Bazaar would set up around 200 stationary stalls.〔(Tin Shui Wai, where hawkers help brighten up grim lives, SCMP 2012, 9, 7 )〕 The government started a consultation procedure within the same month and expected the Bazaar would service the public after half a year.〔(Government proposed to allocate Tin Shui Wai land to TWGHs to set up bazaar, NOW 2012, 9, 1 )〕 On 21 October 2012, the representatives of Tin Shui Wai Hawkers Concern Group expressed that the proposals delivered by the TWGHs failed to take care of the actual needs of the local community, hoping the government to set up a bazaar management committee in order to allow the participation of experienced hawkers. As for the TWGHs, the spokesperson replied that they would continue mutual communication by launching an estate-wide consultation.〔(Tin Sau Bazaar proposal to blame; hawkers hopes to participate and design, Ming Pao 2012, 10, 21 )〕 On 1 November 2012, the government opened a nearly 1-month application for the license of operation. According to the relevant documents submitted by the Home Affairs Department, over 3,800 applicants applied, that is 24 applicants competing for one stall on average,〔(Tin Shui Wai Bazaar competed by 24 people on average, Oriental Daily 2012, 12, 08 )〕 meaning the competition for the license is significantly stiff. Selection procedures took place on 14 December, and the results of offerings would be announced in January, 2013.〔(Tin Sau Bazaar application quota exceeds 24 times, NOW 2012, 12, 28 )〕〔(A Lesson to Learn from the Tin Sau Bazaar, Ming Pao 2013, 1, 31 )〕 On 5 January 2013, the Community Development Alliance of Tin Shui Wai, the Hong Kong Institute of Planners and other organizations launched a workshop discussing issues about internal stall design and managerial ways, followed by submitting reports to the TWGHs and the relevant government authorities.〔(Tin Sau Bazaar consists of 190 stalls; over 3,800 application cases, Sing Tao Daily 2013, 1, 6 )〕 On 1 February 2013, Tin Sau Bazaar began pilot operation〔(Tin Shui Wai Tin Sau Bazaar pilot operation this morning, Ming Pao 2013, 2, 1 )〕 and the official opening up of Tin Sau Bazaar took place on 8 February.〔(The opening of TWGHs Tin Sau Bazaar, TWGHs official website, 2012, 2, 8 )〕 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Tin Sau Bazaar」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
